Hi Connie - thanks for reaching out. We do not have a scheduled catering paid for by the zoo, but do cater to private clients who host at the zoo for their group. One such client is coming up next week, but nothing for the zoo at large. I hope this helps!
Definitely an interesting place to come to see the old decor and take a few photos. The novelty of placing your order through a telephone is fun, and the food is okay. If you're just looking for a basic burger or a unique experience it's a good spot.
Six of us dined w you. Our fries were cold. Onion rings were greasy. Left disappointed
It's okay. They used to have the best hamburgers in the world, but not anymore they need. Adjusting
Great service. Food was great. The thing that didn't make it awesome was that the homemade onion rings didn't have any flavor.
Went through the drive up and didn't take long to wait for my order. Food was accurate and hot.
Not the restaurant environment we were hoping for. You have to "phone in" your order and the menu choices weren't very appealing.
I've been going to this restaurant since 1970. In that time, ownership has changed, but the menu has remained fairly constant. Excellent hamburgers, well worth the trip just for the burgers. My favorite is the Cheese Frenchee, which is kind of a deep fried grilled cheese sandwich. They've kept the funky telephones in each booth, which allows you to order directly. I stop by The Wood House every time I'm in Bismarck.
You can always count on the Wood House for a great tasting burger and a cup of soup or chili.
Great food & service. Will be back!
Woodhouse has been around for as long as I can remember in Bismarck.Hamburger is ground fresh everyday, best tasting burger in my opinion. Also serve homemade soup, coleslaw, pies.Onion Rings are awesome as well.Order by booth phone or drive thur.Woodhouse Wonder Meal available thur the drive thur. Hamburger, Drink and Fries $7.00 with tax.Yummy
Potato soup was AWESOME! Broasted chicken was excellent! According to my boyfriend, the beer selection wea superb!!
The hamburger is up there with the best hamburger I have ever eaten.
If you want to eat great simple food in a place that your Grandma and Grandpa ate at back in the day, this is it. You even order over a phone in your booth! Chicken and dumpling soup was hot, flavorful and definitely not from a can. The bread on my BLT was awesome and the bacon wasn't overcooked. Nobody likes bacon dust... Or at least burnt bacon dust. The place was busy but it didn't take long to get our order. Stop by if you can.
Always a special treat to eat at the Wood House! This time I did order out- food was hot and enjoyed the tasty cheese burger made Perfecto!
The staple of hamburgers in Bismarck. It isn't fancy, but the food is always great. I love that they kept the phones to place your order from the table. I like the new choices on the menu too.
The service was great! The food great! And the lady waiting on us was super nice ! All and all!5 star😎
This is the worst place I’ve eaten at so far. I ordered fried fish but was told they were out. So they gave me a fish sandwich that was bland and greasy. We also ordered double cheese burgers. The meat was awful. And the bread was tough. You had to rip it apart to eat it. Don’t go here. I’d rather eat moldy fruit than eat here again.
Great eating place have been there many times
Food was good. Prices reasonable. Nice old school atmosphere. I thought their burger could have used a little more salt, mine was a little bland, but not bad by any means. The burger was a good portion size with lots of pickles and onions, with a soft toasted bun, just the way I like it. Fries and onion rings were as expected. Overall, I'd eat here again.
Order by phone from the booth, just like the 60s. Great service and food.
Delicious food.Thank you so much for a wonderful service!
So I'll start with this. The sign lured me in with "World's best hamburger". It's catchy so I decided to see for myself. The environment is kinda old school. The interior is definitely dated and has a down home comfy feeling to it. There's phones at every booth to call the wait staff with. My cheese burger came out hot with a side of fries that were decent. The burger was really nothing special. Just a griddle fried burger. I'd give it a 5 out of 10 because the best tasting burgers are usually flame grilled on a broiler or grill and not fried. The bun was lightly toasted and tasted fresh. I definitely wouldn't consider it as the world's best burger by any means but I will say the quality of service, cleanliness, and food were all very good.
This is such a fun place to eat. They have good service and delicious food.
Great place to eat. Not much has changed here in 40 years. Same as I remember it as a kid.
I love the food here. Great chicken, great burgers and soups. Some of the best onion rings ever. All handmade. Only thing I would go back to is slicing the onion rings thin again. One of my favorite restaurants in town.
Hadn't been to this place in years( no reason). The service was overwhelming and then there was the food! Everything was great. Will becoming back sooner than later.
Allot like the training table! Great service great food. Will definitely be coming back!
Nostalgic diner vibe with great food.
A fun throwback kind of place to eat. It's not fancy, but worth a visit. All booths, with ordering phones at each both. Good selection of pies.
How is this place so busy? The food is mostly fried, the waitress forgets to refill your $2.40 drink, and the price is a little steep.
A Bismarck tradition. Same good burgers & onion rings as I remember! Can't beat it. ❤
Ordered 2 wonder meals both raw hamburgers tried to call 3 times wouldn't answer there phone, then messaged them , no response didn't mind that they jacked up there prices, but dont try and give your customers an uncooked hamburger, Dan got back next fully refunded, will go back and try again, been going there for years. Thanks Dan
Greatest burgers ever created!!
Really good "diner" food. Different ordering food by phone but fun!
The food is good with a cozy feeling. Don't have to talk to servers if you don't want to.
This is the first time I've visited since the change of ownership. I was not disappointed.I had the buffalo burger that was obviously hand-made from scratch, (not a frozen machine made patty)....Delicious! Fries were also very good. This is the place to go if you just want great local home-style food where the service was fast and friendly.
Food is fair to good (it varies and isn’t consistent). Environment is kind of in need of freshening up. Not necessarily a remodel, just so that it feels clean and fresh instead of run down and a little dingy. Service is always fantastic and friendly
The hamburger was good but on the small side for the money.
The food was terrific definitely a must stop and the staff was so friendly!
If i could give it zero stars i would. Went through drive thru. Bun was hard, burger over cooked and dry, onion rings were so over cooked they crumbled when i picked them up. Threw it all away. Way over priced too....the Dr Pepper was good
Good food, friendly host, love the phone order
The food is really good and made fresh, but DO NOT order chicken from the drive thru if in a hurry or with kids. There is a warning that because food is made fresh that it can take time, what was not made known to us is that a single Fried chicken breast takes 15 minutes to cook.
Great burgers busy place but didn't take long to get food
Awesome service and great food. Loved the Bison burger.
This was the worst meal we have had when eating out in Bismarck. First time and last. Would not recommend to anyone. Had a hamburger and onion rings , husband had Philly and onion rings. Actually feel ill thinking about the food. Won't let me give 0 stars but that's what we give!
I had a cheeseburger, fresh homemade onion rings.it was so good, that I wanted to try their chili, so I took a quart actually home with me and I plan on eating it tonight. All know this restaurant been around Bismarck for a long long time. All in all this restaurant is a great place to eat y'all try it.
The burger was so dry I had to coat every bite in ketchup. The shake came after my food and the service sucked. And not to mention I saw the cook's with their food handling gloves on putting their hands up to their faces and mouths then obviously not replacing their gloves before handling food. Very disappointed as I had been told that this was a Bismarck staple I had to try.
The cheeseburger was delicious. The best part was ordering by phone from the booth.
The historic Bismarck burger joint. Fast casual before there was "fast casual". Inexpensive greasy spoon. Fast service. Old fashioned smaller size servings. Be sure to get a malt or shake, and a buffalo burger.Try the pub burger.
